Can you buy a serviced, affordable, used bike? Yes, you can at our first Second-hand bike markets with Peddle My Wheels at The Blue Market on Saturday 7th October 2023, from 10am to 4pm
The Bicycle Ninja to provide free bike health checks on the day from 10am-2pm
Free Family Activities: To celebrate our Bike Day, there will be free family activities in the market. Bike decoration, Colouring, Fun learning bicycle skills games

Halloween In The Blue / 28 Oct 2023

Are you ready to create a Halloween pumpkin? At our Halloween Pumpkin Carving event, you can select a pumpkin from our market stall. Our artists will assist you in hollowing it out and carving your spooky designs, perfect for illuminating your home on Halloween. Carving tools and pumpkins are provided while supplies last, with one pumpkin per family, first-come, first-served. Additionally, we offer spooky coloring and other seasonal activities, and don’t forget to come dressed in your spookiest costume – it’s welcome and encouraged!

Illuminate Bermondsey Lantern Making
SEVERAL DATES / FREE / NO BOOKING REQUIRED
Illuminate Bermondsey launches programme of Lantern Making Workshops in The Blue Market, local schools, The Blue Anchor Library and community centres. These activities are funded by Southwark Cultural Celebration Fund.
Activities in the market will be: Lantern Making Workshops, Illuminate Bermondsey Lantern Parade Starting at Market Place and a display of hand-made lanterns in The Blue Market a day after the parade.

Winter Storytelling / 25 Nov 2023
SATURDAY 25 November 2023 / 12pm-3pm / FREE / NO BOOKING REQUIRED
You are welcome to join an interactive family storytelling session on the theme of ‘Light’ run by the team at Space For Storytelling with London Dreamtime. Our professional Storyteller will delight young people and grown-ups with fantastic stories of light as the nights draw in.
An afternoon of seasonal folk tales for children celebrating ‘light’ amongst a display of lantern Lantern from Illuminate Bermondsey Lantern Parade. Special guest story tellers from London Dreamtime.
- 12pm – 3pm Illuminate Bermondsey Lantern Exhibition & Drop-in Lantern Craft Workshop
- 1pm: Storytelling in BLW by Emma Charlton and Leanne Bevan and Elena Sirett.
- 2pm: Storytelling in BLW by Aaron Oliver and Fiona Kirkwood
The storytelling will be set amongst a display of Lantern and artwork made for Illuminate Bermondsey Lantern Parade. In-between the stories there will be a second chance to see the amazing lantern made for the parade and be free drop-in craft workshop.

The return of the popular winter fair to The Blue Market.
Join us for a fantastic festive celebration with plenty of entertainment, free activities and market stalls to shop for Christmas gifts. Young and old can join our artist elves Frog Morris and Sarah Sparkes as they decorate the Market Place ready for festive season in our craft workshop. Enjoy music and street entertainment while you catch up on your Christmas shopping in our local Market teeming with exciting gift, local crafts and delicacies from around the world.

Join us for this family workshop and make your own Christmas wreath in The Blue Market to take with you.
A relaxing festive experience for all the family filled with seasonal joy and craftsmanship. Our skilled art elves will show you how to weave willow and then decorate your wreath, choose from holly, ivy and a variety of seasonal greens as well was colourful ribbons, beads and sparkly ornaments. All free and all ages and abilities are welcome to join this drop in workshop. Create cherished family memories this holiday season in The Blue Market Place.

Decorate your own Yuletide treats and make treasures to put under the tree for family and friends.
Free activities for all ages with seasonal surprises to make, decorate and take home. With Christmas nearly here, this is your chance to make some last minute gifts and treats with our artist elves Frog Morris and Sarah Sparkes. It’s the perfect opportunity to get together, get creative and share the excitement as we prepare for the big Christmas celebrations. There will also be an array of gifts and seasonal delicacies for sale in The Blue Market Place. All free, all welcome and on your doorstep.
